1st day of puasa



It's Ramadhan again. Alhamdulillah things are looking good this year. I feel more energetic, more relaxed as compared to last year. All the people I love are healthy and happy, that's the most important thing.

Last year I was still fully breastfeeding my boy. So it's a bit of a challenge when you want to cook and your baby wants to nurse for a few times in between. And if I remember correctly things were busy at work and I did not have the opportunity to be back home early at all. Plus hubby was still working far at that time. I remember us coming back just before buka puasa and it was always tapau-ing the food on the way back for most of the puasa days. And the idea of cooking felt like such a huge commitment.

But this year, I think I have much more energy. And I have this one azam that I want to cook this year. And as usual, when you put your mind to it, things can become easy. You can cook some sensational combo meals within 1 hour, 2 hours tops.

And I really want to show my appreciation to hubby by cooking for him. He's been such a great hubby and he's my biggest fan where my cooking is concerned :) so since my boy is all big now, hubby can easily entertain him while I cook. Plus next year, who knows, maybe I'll have another baby in tow, insyaAllah. So this year is the year to cook!!! *wink wink*

Semoga puasa kali ini membawa keberkatan kepada kita semua, insyaAllah.

Resipi Nasi Ayam

a) Perap Ayam

1. Rebus ayam sekejap (utk jadikan ayam separa rebus)
2. Angkat ayam yang hendak digoreng, sambung rebus sebahagian utk dibuat sup.
3. Lumurkan sedikit dengan garam.
4. Perap dengan sos tiram (lagi banyak lagi sedap), 2 sudu besar madu, 2 sudu besar kicap pekat, 1 sudu besar kicap manis.
5. Seeloknya perap ayam sedikit awal supaya masuk rasa.
p/s : Perap ayam is the first step, and goreng ayam is the last step.

b) Nasi

1. Basuh beras.
2. Ambil sedikit air rebusan dari sup tadi.
3. Tumbuk : bawang merah (2) + bawang putih (2) + halia.
4. Racik : bawang merah (1) + bawang putih (1) + halia.
5. Panaskan 2 sudu besar minyak sapi.
6. Tumis bahan racik hingga garing.
7. Masukkan bahan tumbuk + air rebusan ayam + garam + sehelai daun pandan.
8. Masukkan bahan tumisan ke dalam periuk nasi dan tambahkan air secukupnya.

c) Sup

1. Tumbuk : bawang putih (2) + halia
2. Masukkan bahan tumbuk + kulit kayu manis (1) + bunga lawang (1)
3. Bila mendidih, masukkan daun sup + daun bawang.

d) Sos

1. Tumbuk : cili padi (1) + bawang putih (3)
2. Masukkan sama banyak sos tiram + sos cili
